Team b:fit first run of 2106

We have a corporate fitness group at LaCore enterprises that aims to run at least one 5K every month. Our first event was The Officers Down 5K which celebrates officers who put their lives on the line daily to keep our communities safe and honor those who have fallen. We had a wonderful turnout and community support. Here's to another year of commitment to staying fit!

Annual Chili Cook Off!

We like food at LaCore Enterprises and we like a good competition. So we decided to have a chili cook off here at our corporate office to combine the two. There were 7 contenders with every style of chili you can imagine— beans, no beans, beef, venison and varying degrees of spiciness. To keep it official the cooks were not allowed to vote for their own concoction and we even had some guest judges visiting from Australia who got in on the fun.

Melissa Education Foundation

Lacore Enterprises is a proud sponsor of The Melissa Education Foundation. The MEF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that raises monies to award student scholarships and teaching grants. To date, they have given over $480,000 to fund scholarships for Melissa High School graduates and teaching grants for Melissa ISD educators. We had a wonderful time at their Annual Gala & Auction this year and will continue to support education in our community.

The Conference Table Gets a Second Life

We've been doing some expansion at the bhip offices, one of the LaCore Enterprises companies and needed to find a new home for some of the office furnishings. Giving local organizations first dibs on our gigantic conference table and chairs who might not otherwise have the budget for executive level furniture was a priority. We want to thank the McKinney Chamber of Commerce and Volunteer McKinney for helping connect us with the Assistance Center of Collin County who are giving the furniture a second life.

Memorial Day Remembrance Run

One of the Lacore Enterprises companies, bHIP participated in a 5K on Monday to benefit Wounded Warriors on Memorial Day. It was a little rainy, but that didn't stop Team b:FIT HQ. Ann, Ceci, Jenifer, Kim, Lachelle, Martha, Derek, Ed, Jaime, Jim and Neo all turned out to support this cause.  We're proud of our team and the men and women serving our country.

Company Spotlight | Tornado King

With all the severe weather here in North Texas and the surrounding states we want to share the important work one of the Lacore Enterpirses companies provides. Tornado King has been protecting people for over 30 years with storm shelters.

The shelters provided by Tornado King are made of steel and encased in concrete. Some of their shelters have been in the ground for more than 30 years, and do not leak.

Handicap Accessible
They are the only company offering a handicap-accessible, in-ground shelter. One thing customers continue to say is how safe they feel.

Tornado King has experience in both commercial and residential construction. They continue to modify and improve their shelters to provide customers with the most superior shelters available.

Commitment to Fitness

Health and fitness products are the main focus of b:HIP, a LaCore Enterprises company. The staff at HQ makes sure they embrace this by participating in monthly Charity Runs to raise money for good causes and to keep fit. The team always brings home medals and trophies because they incorporate the company vision into their daily lives. Saturday brought several "Masters" trophies in both the 10K and 5K categories. LaCore Enterprises is proud of our Team b:FIT HQ runners!
